Ms. Komal Kumar serves as the Assistant Airport Director of John Wayne Airport, collaborating with the Airport Director to develop airport policies and oversee all activities related to the operation of a medium-hub Part 139, Class I commercial and general aviation airport. In her role, she leads, manages, and mentors multiple divisions, including Operations, Public Affairs, Planning, Environmental, Quality and Compliance, Innovation and Technology, and Finance.
Before assuming her current position, Ms. Kumar held the role of Deputy Airport Director of Finance Administration, where she supervised all financial functions, including the development of a 5-Year Strategic Financial Plan and the management of Capital Improvement Program (CIP) development and funding. With a tenure at the Airport since 2016, she has held various titles, including Budget Manager, Fiscal Operations Manager, and Finance Manager.
Ms. Kumar brings 17 years of experience working for the County of Orange to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of California, Riverside.
