John Wayne Airport Posts October 2019 Statistics

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in October 2019 as compared with October 2018. In October 2019, the Airport served 897,873 passengers, a decrease of 1.0% when compared with the October 2018 passenger traffic count of 907,191. 

Commercial aircraft operations decreased 5.2% and commuter aircraft operations increased 84.4% when compared with October 2018 levels.

Total aircraft operations decreased in October 2019 as compared with the same month in 2018. In October 2019, there were 25,468 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 5.4% decrease compared to 26,926 total aircraft operations in October 2018.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 67.9% of the total aircraft operations during October 2019, decreased 6.9% when compared with October 2018.

The top three airlines in October 2019 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (288,850), American Airlines (150,471) and United Airlines (143,338).
