John Wayne Airport Posts July 2019 Statistics

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in July 2019 as compared with July 2018. In July 2019, the Airport served 946,111 passengers, a decrease of 4.5% when compared with the July 2018 passenger traffic count of 991,003.

Commercial aircraft operations decreased 5.0% and commuter aircraft operations increased 152.7% when compared with July 2018 levels.

Total aircraft operations decreased in July 2019 as compared with the same month in 2018. In July 2019, there were 27,520 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 3.3% decrease compared to 28,466 total aircraft operations in July 2018.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 69.7% of the total aircraft operations during July 2019, decreased 4.3% when compared with July 2018.

The top three airlines in July 2019 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (287,054), American Airlines (161,088) and United Airlines (156,878).
