Escalator Improvements

What

Six escalators in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal will be replaced to improve the efficiency and maintenance access of each of the escalators in Terminals A & B. Improvements include changing the incline & decline length and grade, upgrading overhead lighting, framing and support posts, and electrical circuits, increasing seismic gaps, and installing new split-system controls. In addition, the security roll-up grills at the base of the two escalators leaving the security check-points in Terminals A & B will be moved out to accommodate the longer length. 

Where

Terminals A & B, including the two descending escalators near the security check-points, and the four ascending and descending escalators leading from the ticketing/departing level to the baggage claim/arrival level.

When

Phase 1A (Escalators 2, 3 & 4): 3^rd Quarter 2024 – 1^st Quarter 2025

Phase 1B (Escalators 1, 5 & 6): 1^st Quarter 2025 – 3^rd Quarter 2025
