JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS MARCH 2011 STATISTICS (Revised)**
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in March 2011 as compared to March 2010. In March 2011, the Airport served 741,489 passengers, an increase of 0.7% when compared to the March 2010 passenger traffic count of 736,104.
Commercial aircraft operations increased 0.5%, while Commuter aircraft operations decreased 23.9% when compared to the levels recorded in March 2010.
Total aircraft operations decreased in March 2011 as compared to the same month in 2010. In March 2011, there were 22,104 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 8.2% when compared to 24,067 total aircraft operations in March 2010.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 67% of the total aircraft operations during March 2011, decreased 11.4% when compared to March 2010.
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, and serves more than nine million passengers annually.
