JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS DECEMBER 2010 STATISTICS (Revised)** SANTA ANA, Calif. -
Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in December 2010 as compared to December 2009. In December 2010, the Airport served 718,571 passengers, a decrease of 2.1% when compared to the December 2009 passenger traffic count of 734,285.
Commercial aircraft operations decreased 4.8%, while Commuter aircraft operations decreased 26.6% when compared to the levels recorded in December 2009.
Total aircraft operations decreased in December 2010 as compared to the same month in 2009. In December 2010, there were 18,715 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 16.7% when compared to 22,470 total aircraft operations in December 2009.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 62% of the total aircraft operations during December 2010, decreased 22.1% when compared to December 2009.
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, and serves approximately nine million passengers annually.
