AUGUST 2010 STATISTICS (Revised)**SANTA ANA, Calif. -
Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in August 2010 as compared to August 2009. In August 2010, the Airport served 802,065 passengers, a decrease of 3.8% when compared to the August 2009 passenger traffic count of 833,962.
Commercial aircraft operations decreased 4.1%, while Commuter aircraft operations decreased 70.6% when compared to the levels recorded in August 2009.
Total aircraft operations decreased in August 2010 as compared to the same month in 2009. In August 2010, there were 24,797 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 3.4% when compared to 25,681 total aircraft operations in August 2009.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 70% of the total aircraft operations during August 2010, increased 1.1% when compared to August 2009.
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise owned and operated by the County of Orange and serves approximately nine million passengers annually.
