JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS JULY 2010 STATISTICS (Revised)**SANTA ANA, Calif. -
Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in July 2010 as compared to July 2009. In July 2010, the Airport served 792,532 passengers, a decrease of 3.6% when compared to the July 2009 passenger traffic count of 821,905.
Commercial aircraft operations decreased 6.3%, while Commuter aircraft operations decreased 71.8% when compared to the levels recorded in July 2009.
Total aircraft operations decreased in July 2010 as compared to the same month in 2009. In July 2010, there were 22,342 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 16.3% when compared to 26,693 total aircraft operations in July 2009.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 67% of the total aircraft operations during July 2010, decreased 16.9% when compared to July 2009.
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise owned and operated by the County of Orange and serves approximately nine million passengers annually.
