JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT REOPENS ALL LEVELS OF SOUTHWEST PARKING STRUCTURE (B1)

Santa Ana, CA – Today, all levels of the John Wayne Airport (JWA) B1 (Southwest) parking garage reopened to the general public. The B1 structure was closed in November 2002 as part of the seismic remediation of the Northwest and Southwest parking structures, which began in May 2002. The B1 parking structure is located directly adjacent to the Terminal on the south end.

The Board of Supervisors awarded the construction contract to Fibrwrap Construction, Inc. on February 26, 2002 and at a cost of $2,999,000.

Also, all four access roads into the Airport continue to remain open: Michelson Drive entrance from MacArthur Boulevard, direct access from the I-405 Freeway at MacArthur Boulevard, Campus Drive to the south of the airfield, and the dedicated SR-55 Freeway off-ramp to the north of the airfield.

Passengers are advised to arrive two hours prior to their scheduled flight to allow time for parking, check-in and the security screening process.

All travelers are advised to check with JWA prior to arrival to verify the status of access roads and parking availability by calling an Airport Operator at 949.252.5200 or visiting our Web site at www.ocair.com.
