JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT REOPENS LEVELS 3 AND 4 OF SOUTHWEST
PARKING STRUCTURE (B1) |
|
Santa Ana, CA – Today, levels three and four of the John Wayne Airport B1 (Southwest) parking garage reopened to the general public. Levels one and two remain closed as Phase Two of the ongoing seismic remediation construction project continues. All four levels of the B1 structure were closed in November 2002. The seismic remediation of the Northwest and Southwest parking structures is a two-phase process: Phase One (Northwest – Garage A1) was completed Monday, November 11, 2002 and Phase Two (Southwest – Garage B1) will be completed in April 2003. The parking structures are located directly adjacent to the Thomas F. Riley Terminal on the west side. Additional parking is available in the east side garages (A2 or B2), Valet Parking, or the Main Street Parking Lot. Passengers are advised to arrive two hours prior to their scheduled flight to allow time for parking, check-in and the security screening process. The Board of Supervisors awarded the construction contract to Fibrwrap Construction, Inc. on February 26, 2002. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $2,999,000.
