JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS SEPTEMBER 2008 STATISTICS

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in September 2008 as compared to September 2007. In September 2008, the Airport served 687,603 passengers, a decrease of 12.2% when compared to the September 2007 passenger traffic count of 782,896.

Commercial Carrier flight operations decreased 10.2%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations decreased 25.1% when compared to the same levels recorded in September 2007.

Total aircraft operations decreased in September 2008 as compared to the same month in 2007. In September 2008, there were 18,098 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 32.9% when compared to 26,957 total aircraft operations in September 2007.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 58% of the total aircraft operations during September 2008, decreased 42.5% when compared to September 2007.
