LOCAL ARTIST FEATURED IN JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT’S COMMUNITY FOCUS PROGRAM

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Paintings by artist Michelle La Rae are on display at John Wayne Airport now through December 27, 2007 in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal as part of the Airport’s “Community Focus Program”, which features Orange County artists. La Rae is known for her representational paintings of local landmarks and Orange County flavor.

The paintings will be displayed in the departure (upper) level near the security screening areas and on the arrival (lower) level near baggage carousels 1 and 4. An example of Ms. La Rae’s work can be seen below.

“Considering all the demands that life puts on us, I strive to create peaceful, calming paintings giving the viewer an opportunity to daydream,” said La Rae. “People often comment how much they would like to step into one of my paintings.” La Rae’s work has recently been on display at Laguna Beach’s Art-a-Fair, Dana Point’s Coastal Arts and the Festival of the Whales.
