“REGIONALIST PAINTINGS OF CALIFORNIA” ON DISPLAY AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT |
|
SANTA ANA, Calif. – As part of its ongoing exhibition program in the Vi Smith Concourse Gallery, John Wayne Airport (JWA) is currently featuring representational watercolor paintings, depicting aspects of life in California circa 1930 to 1970. The exhibit, “Regionalist Paintings of California,” showcases the classical European style of watercolor painting. The Exhibition is scheduled to be on display through October 8, 2007. “During this period, the artists produced American Scene or Regionalist artworks beautifully depicting a ‘sense of place’ featuring local people in city living environments, factories, transportation venues including boats, trains and streetcars,” said Karin Schnell, exhibition guest curator. Northern California artists’ works are exhibited in Terminal A across from Gates 12-14 and Southern California artists are in Terminal B across from Gates 1-3.
