RECORD SETTING MARCH FOR JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT
Number of Passengers Utilizing Airport Up 8.2% From The Same Time Last Year

(Santa Ana, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport continued to be robust in March 2005 as 821,898 travelers passed through the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. This 8.2% increase over the same period last year establishes a new record at JWA for passenger travel during the month of March.

“John Wayne Airport is a very busy place right now,” said John Wayne Airport Director Alan Murphy. “Passenger traffic is up 5.1% for the first quarter of 2005 and that is good for business and the local economy as a whole.”

Total aircraft operations decreased in March 2005 as compared to the same month in March 2004. In March 2005, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) were 29,137, a decrease of 3.6% when compared to the March 2004 total aircraft operations count of 30,239. General aviation activity, which accounted for 70% of the total aircraft operations during March 2005, showed a decrease of 3.7% when compared to March 2004.

John Wayne Airport is a self-supporting enterprise owned and operated by the County of Orange.
