John
Wayne Airport (JWA) requires geotechnical consultants who perform geotechnical
investigation at John Wayne Airport to follow the format below when submitting the
boring logs:
- All
the geotechnical boring logs must be submitted in gINT (geotechnical
integrator) for windows format. The required files can be downloaded
by clicking on the buttons to the right. New project files must be
created based on JWA gINT data template only.
- The
final submittal of geotechnical report must contain hard copies with
electronic copies of boring logs. The boring logs must be in gINT
format using JWA's boring log template for output files, which are
available in JWA's library file. The electronic copy will be a gINT
project file (in *.gpj format). The project file must contain the
boring information and all laboratory-testing results.
- The
following inputs are required for the header of the boring log;
- A-E
Firm: the name of the geotechnical consultant (e.g.; ABC
Consultants).
- A-E
project number: geotechnical consultants' project number
(e.g.; 12345.01).
- A-E
boring ID: name of the boring ID, the consultant used (e.g.;
B-7).
- JWA
boring ID: all the borings need to be named in such a way
it reflects the consultants' name, the year boring performed,
and the boring number (e.g.; ABC02-7 for a boring B-7 performed
by ABC consultant in 2002).
- Boring
location: station along the main runway and offset must be
provided. The offset is positive towards the terminal building
and negative away from the terminal building from the runway
centerline. Northing and Easting must be provided in the
electronic project file.
- Elevation,
depth, drilling equipment, method of drilling, borehole diameter,
sampler types, drive hammer drop and diameter must also be
provided.
