John Wayne Airport is currently recruiting for the following positions:

MANAGER, EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

The Federal Aviation Administration defines an airport emergency as "any occasion or instance, natural or man-made that warrants action to save lives and protects property and public health".

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Airport is prepared to respond to, mitigate, and recover from all emergencies or disasters; develop and maintain emergency preparedness and recovery plans and procedures for all potential emergencies in compliance with applicable local, State and Federal regulations; plan and execute mandated as well as Airport-initiated emergency preparedness exercises in coordination with all Airport Divisions, Airport tenants, contract services (law enforcement and fire), and local/state/federal agencies as necessary; act as the primary departmental liaison to the County’s Emergency Management Bureau (EMB) responsible for the County of Orange Operational area; be responsible for the Airport’s Operations Center functional design, equipment, supplies and training of Airport staff for assigned EOC positions; direct and maintain the Airport’s volunteer Emergency Response Team (ERT) by conducting quarterly meetings and coordinating training activities to include field exercises; maintain the Airport’s emergency supply cache and train ERT staff on supply locations as well as proper setup and use in an emergency; assist with budget preparation as it relates to emergency preparedness; and participate in the development of the Airport’s Business Continuity Plan.
