Commissions
Airport Land Use Commission
- Consists of seven members.
- The membership consists of two Commissioners appointed
by the Orange County Board of Supervisors, two appointed
by the League of California Cities and two appointed by the
public airports. The seventh member is appointed by the other
Commissioners to represent the general public.
- The Airport Land Use Commission, which is governed by the
Public Utilities Code Section 21670 has a basic responsibility
to assist local agencies in ensuring compatible land uses
in the vicinity of all airports in the County.
- Reviews land use proposals near civilian
and military airports and other land uses issues which have
a potential impact
on airport operations.

Responsibilities:
- To protect the public from adverse effects of aircraft
noise.
- To ensure that people and facilities are not concentrated
in areas susceptible to aircraft incidents.
- To ensure that no structure or land use activities adversely
affect the operational integrity of the airports or their
navigable airspace.
