JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS AUGUST 2012 STATISTICS (Revised)***
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in August 2012 as compared to August 2011. In August 2012, the Airport served 838,623 passengers, an increase of 4.5% when compared to the August 2011 passenger traffic count of 802,534.
Commercial aircraft operations increased 2.8%, while Commuter aircraft operations decreased 4.2% when compared to the levels recorded in August 2011.
Total aircraft operations increased in August 2012 as compared to the same month in 2011. In August 2012, there were 23,048 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), an increase of 1.9% when compared to 22,613 total aircraft operations in August 2011.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 67% of the total aircraft operations during August 2012, increased 1.4% when compared to August 2011.
