ORANGE COUNTY STUDENTS INVITED TO ENTER AVIATION ART CONTEST
John Wayne Airport Announces its 23rd Annual Student Art Contest

SANTA ANA, Calif. - John Wayne Airport's 23rd Annual Student Art Contest is now underway. Orange County students in grades K-12 are encouraged to submit artwork inspired by this year's theme: "My Favorite Airsports." Entries should be submitted to the Orange County Department of Education, any Orange County Public Library Branch or participating city libraries listed below no later than 4 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012.

Call for Entries to the 23rd Annual JWA Student Art Contest

The John Wayne Airport Student Art Contest is part of the International Aviation Art Contest. JWA winning entries often go on to compete at State, National and International levels of competition.

Artworks that best depict this year's contest theme are selected for exhibition and prizes. Winners and honorable mentions from grades Kindergarten through 12th will be exhibited from December 11, 2012 through January 16, 2013 on the arrival level, adjacent to Baggage Carousels 1 and 4, of the Thomas F. Riley Terminal.

Each entrant will receive a certificate of participation from the Airport, and select winners will be awarded prizes donated by sponsors including Ballet Festival Theater, Boomers, Castle Park, Chemers Gallery, The Children’s Museum La Habra, Disneyland Resort, ExplorOcean - Newport Harbor Nautical Museum, JWA McDonalds, the Irvine Museum, Flight Deck Air Combat Center, Go-Cart World, Laguna College of Art & Design, Knott’s Berry Farm, the Laguna Museum, the Laguna Playhouse, and the Nixon Library.

Interested students can pick up materials at any Orange County Public Library or any city library branch in Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton, Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, Placentia, Santa Ana, or Yorba Linda.
