JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS APRIL 2009 STATISTICS (Revised)**

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in April 2009 as compared to April 2008. In April 2009, the Airport served 722,797 passengers, a decrease of 6.8% when compared to the April 2008 passenger traffic count of 775,205.

Commercial Carrier flight operations decreased 7.4%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations increased 12.5% when compared to the same levels recorded in April 2008.

Total aircraft operations decreased in April 2009 as compared to the same month in 2008. In April 2009, there were 23,544 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 15.7% when compared to 27,914 total aircraft operations in April 2008.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 68.0% of the total aircraft operations during April 2009, decreased 19.8% when compared to April 2008.

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, serves nearly nine million passengers annually and is governed by the five-member Orange County Board of Supervisors.
